Flexibility -- Changing Plans

Tonight my local writers' group planned on gathering around a bon fire and sharing stories we'd written. Originally, it was to be held Oct. 31, but for more than one reason the event moved to tonight. Wouldn't you know it, the weather man said it could be our first hard freeze, and wind would be gusty enough to post red flag warnings. Not a good night for a bon fire.

So after a flurry of emails, we ended up at one member's home, had a pot of chilie and other goodies. Why do I bring this up? Flexibility is part of life. Learning to eat moderatly is part of being flexible. And it worked. I ate, am satisfied and stayed within my calorie count!

The same thing happened with my plans for NaNoWriMo Day 2. I have a list of ideas to spark my writing. But this morning I woke with a different idea in mind. I padded out to the darkened living room, flipped on the lap top and typed up the wedding scene. It's not what I had in mind, but I've learned to be flexible.
