Master Cleanse Diet (Lemonade Diet)

It's been a long time since I posted here because time constraints forced me to prioritize. But yesterday I started the Master Cleanse diet also known as the Lemonade diet, and thought I'd post my journal entries for others considering detoxification. I weaned myself from coffee and caffeine before starting to avoid the caffeine withdrawal headache.

Day 1 – Sunday, February 10, 2008
Weight: 139.6
Exercise: 30 minutes walking

I had planned on starting the Master Cleanse on Monday if I had weaned myself from coffee. As it turned out, I made it through all of Saturday without the headache and decided I'd go ahead and start today. Especially after we ate at an all-you can eat buffet last night.

I started out with the salt water flush this morning. I'd tried this a couple of times before so not only did I know what to expect, but I knew I could do it. Though I had to do it earlier than I usually would if I want to fit in drinking 10-12 glasses of the lemonade mixture. As of 12:30 I've had 4 glasses as I'm trying to spread them out over the day and listen to my body. So far I don't "feel" bad or good…pretty normal. Though I'm starting to get hungry between drinks…not like starving, but I can tell I'm ready for something more.

The taste of the lemonade mixture is not bad. Actually it's pleasant except for the after bite of the cayenne pepper. If it wasn't for the pepper I could sit and actually enjoy sipping the lemonade.

By the evening I had a dull headache and needed to wrap myself in a blanket to feel warm. Don't feel awful, but I've felt better. I'll sip on my dieter's tea and go to bed. At least day one is done!
