Discipline
1. Training expected to produce a specific character or pattern of behavior, especially training that produces moral or mental improvement.
2. Controlled behavior resulting from disciplinary training; self-control.
Guess that answers it. Discipline brings about change. Change is good, but does not always feel good. Which brings me back to my morning. I came across this verse.
Romans 12:3 "For through the grace given to me I say to every man among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think, but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith."
My mental struggle deals with thinking I deserve to eat what I want when I want. Today I realized this thinking lines up with thinking "more highly of myself than I ought to think." Instead, the discipline of renewing my mind will help me to "think so as to have sound judgment."
