Fluctuating
Yesterday and today, the scale's numbers fluttered from what I weighed Monday to a pound and a half higher. Logically, I tell myself it's water weight, but I'd still feel the let down. I've been "good" and want to see it drop.
I haven't let it discourage me, but if it continued to standstill or jump back and forth by a pound and a half, my tendency would be to run to comfort food?
So, I'm limiting my weigh-ins to each Monday. That should help motivate me to stay true over the weekend.

Birdie,
When young, preparing to be bridesmaid for Marjorie, my brother´s bride, I went on a simple diet, NO SECOND HELPINGS, and asked the woman making my dress to make just a bit tight. That worked, in three days the gown fitted me.
It´s easier at 20. I did a similar thing when getting ready for my own wedding. I kept the belt of the silken gown for decades and from time to time I´d try to hook it up, to be sure I could still get it closed by holding my breath.
This worked pretty well until the day, when debts piling up made me gain 6 pounds, I consulted a doctor and he said, "You must eat less." I did until I fainted three times and the good old doc discovered I had an underactive thyroid gland. Treatment cured me ASAP.
But now I have the opposite problem. I lost 14 pounds in one year without trying. Besides, as we age, fat tends to drop from the upper body to below the waist, and the only way to avoid this is exercise, exercise, exercise.
I´m going to join your group. Goal - walk the dog daily, in spite of summer heat in Brazil, and spend 20 minutes a day exercising.
Thanks for the idea and good luck.
Margaret
