Sailing into the Unknown

Today is my birthday, and I have the privledge of going fishing on a charter for the day instead of going to work. I won't have the opportunity to walk, and I'm not sure what the "meal plan" will be, so I'll bring my water and an apple and see what happens. God knew I needed a break from the day-to-day, and I'm so thankful.

I haven't been fishing since I went out with a good friend that is now with the Lord. My sleep was filled with dreams of missing him, and I awoke in a bit of a melancholy mood. It's funny how much I look forward to the day I go to be with the Lord, yet how much a long for the company of those that have gone on before me.

The praise is that until I stopped to think about it, I didn't realize that my thoughts didn't turn to food for comfort. The Lord of all is doing a work in my heart, and I thank all those praying for me.
