Thinking About Food

The first lesson I've learned from fasting and prayer is the freedom it provides. My morning wasn't consumed with wondering what to make or buy for lunch. Afternoons snacks of cookies and chips weren't a consideration--and it was good.

Each time my thoughts even touched on food, it was a reminder to pray. Let's face it. There's plenty to pray for and about. The process reminds me of God's faithfulness. Without concerns for my appetite, my mind stayed more on things above. I've never experienced this before--even when fasting. I guess it has to do with motives and attitude.

For those praying for me, pray for guidance as I write the budgeting book. It's coming along, and the first thoughts for the devotional are on paper. Please, continue to pray for the sale of the house.
