Planning Ahead

Gray skies are brightening as rain clouds diminish this fine Saturday morning. I thank God for the rain. After last year's drought, I don't take rain for granted.

My husband and I worked for two hours in the garden last evening. I wish I could have done more, but I only have so much energy and it was spent. What great exercise though! I have one row of peppers in, the bed in place for the squash and cantaloupe and the soil prepared for another row of peppers and a row of tomatoes. Much more work to do. We'll see how things dry up. Hopefully, I'll be back out there today.

My eating has gradually improved, and before I went shopping yesterday I figured out calories for things I can eat in the coming week. Maybe if I don't have to stop and calculate calories when I'm hungry but just pick something off the list that will help. I found a recipe for a low cal dip using fat free cottage cheese blended with ranch dressing seasoning for my veggies. I'll let you know how it tastes. If it's good I'll share the recipe.

Working in a garden is great exercise! I think just being outside in the fresh air helps improve my mood.

I agree!

Just think this used to be a way of life for many in times when losing weight was not such an effort. I wonder why. LOL
