Garden Plan
Sorry to be absent. I'm a bit behind on a large freelance project that has to be done by the end of the month, have three interviews to finish up, am trying to consistently work on my novel in progress...which is where my heart is right now. I'll have to tell you all about it when I have time, but I can tell you it takes place in the year 2046 in SW Florida, and the country is in turmoil and divided down the middle...well like I said, I'll have to tell you about it when I have time.
I've been exercising according to plan. If I walk today, that will give me 5 days this week. (My weeks run from Monday to Monday for my goals). My eating has been on track about 50 percent of the time. I'm letting stress get the better of me. Could be worse, could be better. Today's the potluck dinner--we'll see how it goes.
I've purchased most of the plants for my garden and planted more flowers. Working the earth is a real stress buster--except when you don't think you have time to do it. Once I'm out there though, it's great. This year I missed buying broccoli. The stores are all out. I was waiting to be sure I owned a small rototiller; one I could handle. Now I have it, which will help make keeping up with the weeds much easier. At least here in GA I can plant broccoli in September and have a fall crop.
This year's garden will have:
- Cantaloupe
- Strawberries
- Green peppers
- Banana peppers
- Okra
- Tomatoes
- Yellow Squash
- Green Beans

Hello!
Perhaps I'm making a break through! The scale registered a lb. less this morning. Of course like food, my attitude was I want more. I will take the one lb. loss and keep pushing forward. I did succeed once again with the exercise and made six days this past week.
My desire is to be 20 lbs lighter in 6 months. Then I MAY tell you my weight...LOL
Will be going out of state on Sat. for a week and it's really going to take a lot of self-discipline as we will be celebrating two birthdays, plus a different way of eating. Knowing I'm being accountable to those in this battle, might help me make healthier choices.
Donna, you are such a gifted writer and it is a joy to have you as a friend.
Thanks for telling us in the upcoming blogs about the benefits of the fruits and veggies you've planted. Most of us probably know but nice to have a reminder.
Vernie
Hi!
Donna you know me but I'd like to introduce myself to Vernie. I am a 50 something grandmother and writer who lives in California.
Donna has helped me become more productive by setting and achieving personal goals in another group. So since I have some significant health issues I thought this would be a great place to work on losing weight too. Donna you are such an inspiration!
I received the Flat Belly Diet book and DH is shopping today so I should be ready to start on the 4 day anti bloat jump-start tomorrow.
My main health goal this year is to get healthy enough to stop taking Diabetes, High Blood Pressure and anti-depressant medications(of course under medical supervision). Since I completed menopause the belly fat has ballooned along with health issues so I thought I would work on that first.
Vernie,I know it is hard to eat healthy when away, accountability really does help to sway me toward doing the right thing when tempted. Enjoy your vacation!
Donna, your list of fruits and veggies make my mouth water!
Whew! Glad to be here.
Have a great day!
Roberta
Vernie,
It's so good to hear your good news. It comes at a time that encourages me. I have no good excuse--or even a bad excuse for not eating like I should and to see your success goads me to get back on track.
Thanks so much for checking in.
Donna
Roberta!
So good to see you here. I really appreciate the support. It wonderful to have you and I can't wait to hear how the flat belly diet works. I've only heard good things about it.
Donna
