Exercise Makes a Difference -- Stay Sharp
Yesterday I worked for 11 hours to finish up the big project I've been working on. That project sucked up every spare moment I had, including exercise time. I've decided not to accept another. When it comes to eating right and exercising, it's a commitment that requires time. I've continued to follow my plan to cut potatoes, pasta, bread and sugar. My weight vacillates but I've lost around 5 pounds in these three weeks. At my high point it was 7 pounds, but then I was exercising. This speaks volumes.
Eating right helps lose weight, but the bottom line is: If you want to lose weight you have to burn more calories than you eat. I'm looking forward to getting back to it. Not that I love exercise, but I always feel better when I consistently make a point to be active. A few weeks back I talked about how exercise improves our mood and self-esteem--that "feel good about yourself " is an added benefit to regular exercise.
Another plus when you exercise regularly is increased mental focus. I don't know about you, but I can use some of that. Research shows that exercise will help keep your brain sharp. If you have a hard time staying motivated when it comes to exercise, think of it as improving your focus and concentration. Now that's a bonus worth sweating for.
