Get Up and Move

Here we go again, another Monday. Looking back at last week, I exercised 5 days! If all goes well, that's the plan for this week too. The key is to have a plan, not just a desire, but a plan to hit the target. Setting the appointment to exercise is the plan that works for me. Because of the current heatwave, I'm bumping my appointment from the afternoon to the morning. It is supposed to reach 98 here today.

I have a full day scheduled. Plenty to do between juggling the produce harvest coming in from the garden (put up another 10 quarts of tomatoes yesterday), grandkids coming over to spend the afternoon with me, and family coming over for dinner...oh yes, and the writing I have to get done. With that said, I'm keeping this short today. Just wanted to remind you:

Get up and move! Think about what you eat. The choices you make today can affect your health tomorrow.

Woohoooo!!!!
Normally people start out doing a three day routine, then move up to five. I'm glad to hear you made it the full five days!
That takes willpower!

I meant to ask you "when" you did your run (morning, noon, or night) Because sometimes it makes a difference in how the rest of the day plays out.

Morning workouts really pump you for the rest of the day! Noon workouts are okay, but draining in the raising temps (by mid day) And SOMETIMES the morning routine feels soooooo good, you want to do it again in the early evening when the temps are cooling off.(or at least a brisk walk)

The temps are in the hundreds here in Texas, and the 90's sound coooool to me.

When I didn't see a blog for a couple days, I knew you were working it, but I just wanted an update.

I see success down that path your on. :-)

Enjoy your day! Enjoy the grandkids and family, and tomorrow work off all that good food you'll eat! (in moderation of course)

Nice Work Donna!!! Have a nice tall glass of WATER, on me! lol

Hi Joni,

I prefer a morning work out, however, that is the most creative part of my day, so it is also important writing time. Today I wrote till 10:00 and got out there a little earlier. Since they said it would be 98 this afternoon, I knew 3:00 would be too hot. Yet, that's when I ended up in the garden. Now I have a few dozen more tomatoes to deal with. :)

Tomatoes are good, Donna.I love tomatoes. You are doing a terrific job training for the run. You'll be ready in no time.
I bet all that running works great in getting rid of stress.

Hi Raven,

Thanks for the encouragement. Yesterday I picked probably 3 dozen more tomatoes. Guess what I'll be dealing with today. LOL

Making healthy salads? :-)

I don't want to say 'sauces' because we know what we do with sauces! Put them on pasta! AAAAAAA!

A nice garden salad will do fine.

I'm glad to see you watch the temps, so that your routine can have the MAXIMUM benefit!

Way to go!

I have a little temperature box on my computer though the weather channel...like right now I know it is 69 degrees. It helps me plan around the heat. :)
